"Raise It for Health, our coalition of more than 200 leading Indiana health, business, civic and youth groups concerned about Indiana's youth tobacco addiction, commends Senator Young for his co-sponsorship of a bipartisan bill that will increase the minimum sale age for tobacco products from 18 to 21. The Tobacco 21 Act is an important step to reduce the prevalence of tobacco products in our schools and protect more young people from a lifetime of tobacco addiction. Because Indiana’s smoking rate is among the worst in the nation, it is critical that Hoosier lawmakers support policies at all levels of government that will reduce Indiana’s tobacco burden and we are grateful for Senator Young’s leadership on this issue at the federal level."
